Title: | Black Figure Tripod Pyxis Fragment
Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Fragment preserves a piece of the finished left edge: above and to right broken. Part of a drilled (mend?) hole remains at upper right hand corner of fragment. Decoration depicts feet of woman, man and horse. Between the woman's feet, vestige of her skirt hem; in front of the man, vertical row of dots. White is used on a narrow band at the cut-in top of the flaring base, as well as to distinguish the woman's feet. The black of the base smears on the finished left edge. Inside and undersurface lack smooth finish. Cf. P 387, P 418, probably same pot.
