Description: | Five fragments from base of neck and body of large neck amphora. a) from the base of the neck, with a relief snake on the shoulder; panels on the neck, decorated with an incipient palmette, break back of the handle. Dilute red paint. From an hydria like P 1710, or possibly an oinochoe. b) four fragments (b, c, d, e) from the body; decorated with curling tendrils ending in palmettes. The largest fragment shows two lines at the bottom. Presumably these fragments came from a zone of the vase as on the Analatos hydria. Very early orientalizing style.
