Title: | Red Figure Oinochoe Fragments
Category: | Pottery | |
Description: | Several joining fragments preserve part of the rim, neck and shoulder, with the handle. Of the decoration, a little of the upper border and of the border to either side remains: above, framed palmettes, topped by a row of egg pattern; to sides, chevrons. Another piece, mended from many, gives something of the figured scene, a komos. At right, a youth running right, looking back; a torch in his left hand, his right arm raised; cloak over left shoulder; wreath. Following him, a flute-girl, and at left, one foot of third figure. Another small fragment, gives part of drapery and thigh of left figure. No relief contour. Careful work, battered.
